Have you ever received an email from YouTube or logged into your channel and found your YouTube account was suddenly “we have removed your channel from YouTube” for violating YouTube policies?

I recently received an email from YouTube stating that my channel has been removed for the following reasons:

Spam, fraudulent or commercially deceptive content is not allowed on YouTube.

This notification is surprising as our YouTube channel is almost a year old, has never received any warnings or warnings for copyright infringement, and is part of the YouTube Partner Program. Also, our channel has about 100 videos of different lengths and over 1000 subscribers. In the past month, it has gained tremendous popularity (views, subscribers, comments) and has been shut down. YouTube channels are based on cryptocurrency mining and showcase various applications and profitability.

Below is a copy of an email from YouTube containing a message attempting to log into your currently terminated YouTube account.

YouTube Suspended Channel Email:

Subject: CHANNEL_NAME, we have removed your channel from YouTube.

Body: We have reviewed your content and found severe or repeated violations of our Community Guidelines. Because of this, we have removed your channel from YouTube.

We know this is probably very upsetting news, but it’s our job to make sure that YouTube is a safe place for all. If we think a channel severely violates our policies, we take it down to protect other users on the platform – but if you believe we’ve made the wrong call, you can appeal this decision. You’ll find more information about the policy in question and how to submit an appeal below.

YouTube’s email offered an opportunity to appeal their decision and for a chance to get back our suspended YouTube channel. The email contains a link to a YouTube appeal form, see here. Below is an example screenshot of the appeal form

A few hours after receiving the YouTube channel termination notice, I filed an appeal by concluding that the channel was in good standing because I never received any warnings or copyright violation warnings, and it has always been part of the YouTube Partner Program. At the time, we didn’t understand why YouTube took such a quick and strong action against its YouTube channel.

Within a few hours of filing our appeal, YouTube reached out via email [email protected] stating:

After reviewing your objection, we have decided to suspend your account in accordance with our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. For more information, see our Community Guidelines.

In your case, your account has been terminated for repeated or serious violations of YouTube’s policy for spam, deceptive, misleading content, or other violations of our Terms of Service.

Here’s a summary of what happened after careful review of recent actions on our YouTube channel prior to termination.

*Recently, our channel started receiving “spamistic” comments on our videos. Please report these comments as ‘spam’ and manually remove them via the YouTube Studio Creators app. We believe our channel is being targeted by a competitor YouTube channel or by spammers.

*Uploaded a similar video with very similar descriptions a week before the YouTube channel was removed. YouTube may have flagged these videos as misleading or spam, despite the fact that they offer different educational values. In this case, you should receive a warning or a copyright violation warning.

We have sent an email to YouTube Partner Support with the information above. It’s also worth mentioning that we own and manage several other great YouTube channels that are part of the YouTube Partner Program and that we are avid creators. We emphasize that we carefully review all content created and published on YouTube. We will always comply with and respect YouTube’s Privacy Policy and Terms.

YouTube responded:

First of all, we would like to inform you that we cannot check comments that have been reported as spam. YouTube doesn’t shut down channels because of spam from other creators.

Additionally, YouTube Partner Support continues to cite this article as a response to spam channel violations. The YouTube article cites examples of spam abuse, but we haven’t received any concrete examples of actual violations on our channel, so we can only speculate. When I emailed YouTube Partner Support for clarification on a specific video (if the video is the issue), the response was:

For concerns about the specific reasons for a “serious violation” of the YouTube Community Guidelines, YouTube does not provide editorial advice or specific guidance, so an ongoing review is the closest answer. This is because your channel/video may miss certain guidelines which it may violate every time.

We deserve at least a second chance because our YouTube channel is in good shape and is part of the YouTube Partner Program, we would like a more detailed explanation of a specific violation, especially since we have never received a warning or warning for the channel before. more so because However, when I requested again via email, YouTube partner support was silent. We are frustrated, confused, and afraid.

Here is the last email I received from YouTube Partner Support regarding a channel appeal:

You have filed an internal complaint, but our internal team has thoroughly investigated your channel.
Your YouTube account has been suspended for repeated or serious violations of our Community Guidelines.
Unfortunately there are no other upgrades beyond that.

  • After waiting a week, I tried a new appeal, but I got the following message:

We have investigated your request and it appears that you have recently raised an objection. Wait for the current appeal results. If your current appeal is denied, wait two weeks before filing a new appeal.

  • Google currently allows you to file appeals on multiple YouTube channels, but it doesn’t matter whether your appeal is complete or not (eg via YouTube email).

Next Steps Trying to get your YouTube Channel Restored

If you abruptly removed your YouTube channel without thinking you are violating YouTube’s Terms of Service, here’s a summary of your current options:

  • Submit a YouTube Appeal. First, gather the facts. See the most recent actions and mentions of the channel before it was removed. Also describe what you think you did wrong – explain why and how. Reading online, I found that some channels were unexpectedly closed due to certain terms YouTube didn’t like.
